Spa Progression | As Purchased
As purchased (after staining the deck): Taken August, 2007
After adding a border and completing the rose garden (and an injured cat), July, 2008
Spa Progression | Preparing the ground:
Strip the grass and start digging
With a level ditch into the hill and towards the back, I can figure out the depth for the back wall.
Partial back wall and side wall is complete and level.
Finished the upper level (the right side is level, off of the deck, the left side slopes a bit to keep water from puddling above the wall behind the spa). Removed the flower box on the side of the deck and added the first of two steps down.
Add to right side wall and finish another step down. Continued digging out the area for the spa itself.
Complete right side stones and use leveling sand for base for the spa pad. Remote Control operated lights are installed. Electric from the sub-panel is buried to the point of spa connection.
Spa pad is in place and level. Gutter (a lot of rain comes down this pipe) is routed to the other side of the AC unit.
Spa Progression | Awaiting Delivery:
Shot from he roof. Final pea pebbles are in place (still wet).
Spa Progression | It's in!
The cover lifter acts as a bit of wind guard and offers complete privacy from the neighbor on that side. With the spa layout, there are no seats facing the cover. The angles between the houses are perfect so I don't need any fencing between the spa and house.
